Iron sharpens Iron. I believe that competition and conflict
has a big part to play in groups. Competition helps to drive one to be their
best selves. When I ran track in high school I also enjoyed having a rival that
pushed me to have better time. Most of the time my rival was one of my
teammates, and I benefitted from this because I was always in contact with my
rival. Having a rival in close contact pushed be to be better and better and
helped me to achieve better times. The same can be with conflict. If a group is
able to overcome conflict, then they can grow closer to each other. They learn
what each can do and how to pull together as a group. Competition and conflict and sometimes tear a
group apart. But they are also able to launch a group to places they could not
go with them.

Hey Jeremy! Great post! I liked how you used the expression "iron sharpens iron" to relate it to how groups work. I completely agree with you on how a person needs a rival to push the other group to their fullest potential, but sometimes I feel it depends on what kind of group you're in. If it is a teammate then I would totally agree but if it a classmate i do believe that when someone tries to push you sometimes people don't put much effort into their work, but only in some cases. Overall I agree with what you were saying!
