Leaderless Movements

It seems that online activism is leaderless. What I mean when I say this is that you are not able to identify one single leader in an online movement. This is because the movement is online and lead by one person. Rather is it kept going by the people who contribute to the movement and give an effort to it. This is an important concept because it means that you can not cut off the head to kill the body. Because there is no head. It is easier to harm or jail a person than to do the same to a symbol or movement. So by being leaderless there is not a easy way to stop the movement. But a negative is that the movement is in the hands of the masses. This means that the movement may struggle to identify a goal or go down a path not is not beneficial to the movement. So being leaderless can be a good thing, but it can also mean a lack of structure.
